Dr Gayle Mayes is a lecturer in Sports Marketing and Tourism, Leisure and events at USC for the Faculty of Arts, Business and Law.
Her background includes 10 years as an elite paddle sports athlete culminating in representing Australia at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in flat water sprint kayaking. Gayle is still coaching and competing at international level in sport. She is the founding member, chair and national coach for the No Limits outrigger canoeing program for people with physical disabilities. The No Limits sprint team have been the world champions for the last two world sprints in Rio in 2014 and Australia in 2016.
Gayle was awarded "Coach of the Year" in 2014 by the Sporting Wheelies for the outstanding success and achievements of the No Limits team in Rio.
